Governor Wolf Calls on State Legislators to Fund Ukraine Refugee Aid – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Governor Wolf has a message to Ukrainians fleeing war in their country – and that message is ‘You are welcome here.’

Governor Wolf posted his message on social media on Tuesday.

PA has the second-highest Ukrainian population of any US state.

My message to Ukrainians fleeing their country: You are welcome here.

I am calling on the legislature to authorize $2 million to support the establishment of the New Neighbors Fund to assist with resettlement.

The governor said Pennsylvania has the second-highest Ukrainian population of any state in the country.

He said he was calling on the state legislature to authorize $2 million to assist with resettling refugees.

The Governor said the money would be used to support the creation of the ‘New Neighbors Fund’.
