(CBS4) – Colorado Governor Jared Polis said the annual clemency announcement, usually made around the Christmas holiday, is still in the works. Polis said the focus will be on granting clemency to those found guilty of possessing less than 2 ounces of marijuana.
“It is the final stage of completion,” Polis announced in a press conference on Wednesday. “And I’m looking forward to it in the next few days.”
“We’ll be able to roll out what we’re doing in regards to clemency or, or the parties we usually do during the Christmas period.”
Polis was questioned about whether he met the relatives of the 4 people killed in the crash on Interstate 70 in 2019 – and/or Kim Kardashian West – as it involved leniency for car drivers load, Rogel Aguilera-Mederos. Polis confirmed he had met with several family members of the victims, but did not comment on whether he would offer leniency or reduce the sentence for Aguilera-Mederos.
