GOOGLE has released an urgent update for anyone using the Chrome browser.
The update fixes a dangerous bug that has been labeled “critical” by the search engine giant.
Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers in the world.
Over 2.65 billion people use the app – so any hackable bugs need to be addressed immediately.
Google has released an update that needs to be installed urgently.
It fixes a “critical” bug that Google says – as well as a second bug that was exploited by hackers.
“Google is aware of reports that an exploit … exists in the wild,” the tech giant said in a blog post.
The update also fixes four other security bugs that are rated “high” – not too serious but still good to fix.
Google says the main bug was reported by network expert Sergei Glazunov on October 26 of this year.
Three of the bugs were flagged in October and November, while the fifth was flagged just five days ago.
Hackers can use these bugs to run code on your machine.
That means they can hijack parts of your PC or Mac – hijack your online life.
If you have not recently updated Google Chrome, you should do so as soon as possible.
