‘Good Samaritan just shot and killed man’ after saving him from drowning in jet ski accident

A GOOD Samaritan shot and killed a 29-year-old man shortly after saving him and his girlfriend after the pair fell off their Jet Ski.
A 74-year-old rower, who has not been identified, was out with his wife when he discovered Nathan Drew Morgan and his girlfriend drowned Lake Keowee Tuesday.
Officials said none of them were wearing life jackets and their Jet Skis were circling them. The elderly man pulled the couple onto his pontoon boat when Morgan allegedly became aggressive and began assaulting them.
10th Judicial Attorney David Wagner announced Friday that his office will not file charges against the elderly man, citing the case as “an obvious case of self-defense.”
After the rescue, Morgan is said to have started arguing with the older man. His girlfriend tried to push him back to the lake to defuse the situation, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators believe Morgan wanted his Jet Ski back.

The couple on the pontoon helped Morgan get back on the boat, but the older man said the 29-year-old was still belligerent. As a result, the elderly man shot him, telling authorities he feared for his and his wife’s lives.
Morgan died from a gunshot wound to the chest, the Oconee County Coroner’s Office said.
According to Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, Morgan may have been intoxicated. An autopsy report is still pending.
Investigators also believe that Morgon and his girlfriend may have argued before falling into the water.
Morgan is a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, according to his obituary, and loves to hang out on the water and fish.
He is survived by his 10-year-old son.
Those who knew the man all expressed anger and confusion at the strange case.
“And… anyone who knows how to draw knows this is the absolute BS. He won’t hurt or attack anyone unless HE HAS THREE! ” Kelcie Bratton wrote on Facebook.
She continued: “He would never harm anyone who tried to help him in a situation and I knew this first.
“Inside him is a big teddy bear but if you harm anyone he loves or cross a certain line and step on him first he will finish. He’s not here to defend himself and the people involved don’t seem like they’re telling the whole truth behind this.”
Another friend of Morgan, Kesslin Cole, shared Bratton’s frustration and called for more from the Oconee administration.
“This wonderful man had a son who lost his Best Friend and Drew’s parents will never see their son again… Many people across the community have lost a friend. very special, [and] This is all we get… You call this JUSTICE [?] This is far from that,” Cole wrote.
Brandon Thomas, who lives near the scene of the shooting, tell WSPA that he had never heard of a situation like this in the area before.
“Definitely never seen [or heard] anything like that,” he said, calling the incident “surprising” and “surprise” for the region.
