CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — The Hospice of Huntington held its 21st annual Heating Up the Greens Golf Scramble on Monday afternoon.

The event is always a fun time full of friendly competition with a fantastic reason. Money raised through the golf tournament goes towards the hospice’s mission to provide the most convenient, quality care to those who need it most, regardless of their ability to pay.

Organizers say these funds take a huge burden off patients and their loved ones, allowing them to focus on an easy transition to end-of-life care.

“We have a wonderful community that cares about each other and people and makes sure nonprofits have everything they need to serve the community. And they volunteer their time, talent and treasure, get out there and have a great time,” said Melanie Hall Hospice of Huntington, President and CEO.

Almost 100 golfers from the region took part in today’s event.
