Golf fans are let down when the official takes a tumble after climbing to get up to avoid a stray ball

EVERYONE stumbles occasionally, but not everyone is filmed in action.

But that was the case for an official at the Cazoo Open De France with a shot by Jamie Donaldson.

As the ball goes out on the right side of the fairway, an official can be seen trying to get out of his seat quickly, only to stumble backwards and fall almost immediately.

Just moments later, they try a second time, but luck isn’t on their side again as they find themselves on the grass.

Of course, this footage is a treat for golf fans, and many take it as an opportunity to reminisce about their own dead-leg mishaps.

One commented: “You know how he feels – I sprained my ankle and had a lump the size of an egg when it happened to me! [facepalm emoji]”

Another said: “That’s why I don’t play Sudoku in the toilet anymore!”

While one person explained, “It happened to me once on a train… I fell into a couple of people’s laps. Not my best.”

In terms of competition, Rasmus Hojgaard finished Friday fifteen under fifteen in the lead.

Paul Barjon and George Coetzee are second and third at nine and eight, respectively.
