GMA’s Robin Roberts is missing from the morning show after she gushed about a “special evening” at a prestigious event

ROBIN Roberts was absent from the Good Morning America main desk on Friday.

The 62-year-old co-host missed the morning show after appearing at a prestigious event honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

Robin retweeted a photo a fan posted of her at the event and captioned it: “Glad to be a part of such a special evening.”

She was replaced at GMA by weekend presenter Eva Pilgrim, who joined Whit Johnson and Michael Strahan on the podium.

A day earlier, Robin showed her playful side as she shadowed her co-host Sam Champion’s “shaky” weather report.

The meteorologist returned to the show from his vacation in Brazil earlier this week.

He failed to impress Robin while using sports analogies to discuss the weather.

Sam said, “Look at this. 240 inches of snow in Mountain Mammoth, California.

“Well, how do I relate that to people who don’t live there?

“So you know me. As always, I resort to sports analogies.”

Robin was heard moaning off camera.

Sam continued: “If you take a basketball hoop and put two of them on top of each other.

“Am I alright Robin? How am I doing right now?” he asked.

Robin groaned and said, “A little wobbly.”

Dancing With The Stars alum Sam was previously absent from GMA and Eyewitness News This Morning.

On vacation, the 61-year-old traveled to Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, with his husband Rubem Robierb, 46.

Sam shared a snap of his toned physique on social media.

The weather anchor dropped a cheeky picture of himself and his partner in their Speedos.

The couple may have been to South America to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
