GMA’s Ginger Zee unveils brand new look as hairstylist gets gift of thank you sweater – and fans say ‘It’s so you’

The chief meteorologist recently unveiled her new locks, which have sent fans into a frenzy.
Ginger did the hair transformation in late January after the flu.
In a post on Instagram, the 42-year-old shared with her fans that her new bangs are called “flu bangs – because I’m so thankful I survived.”
She added, “Life is short, cut bangs.”
Ginger credited her hairstylist Merilyn for “realizing her vision” for her look on Thursday’s show.
On her Instagram Stories, the presenter shared a video of herself from the editing suite with the caption, “I had a vision & @msmerylin & @fairweatherfacestbk executed.”
For the show, Ginger’s hair was curled loosely over her shoulder and she wore a bronzed makeup look.
The hostess wore a brown fitted corduroy button down dress that accentuated her figure with matching brown heels.

Ginger responded to fans on Instagram, saying her outfit was from designer shop Veronica Beard and The Real Real.
The meteorologist thanked her team behind the scenes at the GMA.
A video showing off her look was captioned, “So happy to have these studio mornings and my team @msmerylin @fairweatherfacestbk.”
Merilyn’s talent for hair has given her a gift for being such an amazing hairstylist.
Taking to Instagram, Merilyn shared a photo of herself in a new sweater with Ginger posing alongside.
With her back to the camera, Merilyn’s gift reads, “Somebody’s Bomb Ass Hair Stylist.”
Ginger stands next to her barber and points to the text.
Fans loved the look, in which one said to Merilyn: “That’s you! love it” and posted a lot of fire emojis.
While Merilyn and Ginger have been praised by fans who love the host’s new hair, trolls have slammed the style.
In the comment, Ginger clapped back at the troll and wished him a “great day.”
One Twitter user said: “@Ginger_Zee lost the new hair salon, you’re a pretty woman but that doesn’t look good at all (sic).”
The GMA presenter replied: “Thanks for your opinion Gary. The great thing is that I like it and a lot of other people do too.
“And it’s hair. They change and grow, fall out and turn grey… they don’t define who we are.
“It also doesn’t change my ability to communicate my science. Have a nice day!”
