GMA’s Ginger Zee gives health update after fans are concerned about her sudden absence from the show

GINGER Zee has given a health update to concerned Good Morning America fans desperate for her return.

The 41-year-old meteorologist and her two children tested positive for Covid-19, she announced on Saturday.

“So far my symptoms are so much lighter than round 1 of COVID in March 2020!” Zee updated on Twitter.

“Just leg pain, stuffy nose and tired this time.”

The TV personality also gave a weather update, saying: “We’ve been getting pea-sized hail and strong squalls in this heavy warm storm.”

Fans took advantage of the comments to send their well wishes to Zee.

“Ughh, feeling better fast,” said one fan.

Another commented, “Hope you’re back to your normal/amazing self.”

This comes after the GMA meteorologist slammed a troll who called her “too skinny”.

The TV star hit back after a Twitter user responded to a video of her, writing: “I wish Hollywood would stop pressuring women to be so skinny.”

Zee, 40, wrote: “Hmmm I’m rarely called skinny (more often athletically) – have a BMI of around 21 – I think that suits me 🙂

“I’ve been the same weight (excluding pregnancy) for almost two decades. Definitely not Hollywood.”

The morning show host posted a video of her return to the studio on Tuesday.

In the clip, she “changed” from jeans and a t-shirt to a striped dress and heels.

Former Dancing with the Stars contestant Zee wrote: “Look what she got me into… the transformation is REAL this morning as I’m back in the studio @GMA.”

Mum-of-two Zee has previously opened up about her battle with anorexia, saying, “We were moving, I had to make new friends … and I had to be in control, so I was like, ‘I know what I’m going to do, I’m just not going to eat .

“[Ages] 10 to 14 was a big part of my anorexia. I don’t think I knew at the time how bad it was.

“My stepfather is a saint. He came into our lives and taught me about nutrition and self-love, and once I started cutting calories and cutting calories I became obsessed with exercising.

“Everyone goes through these phases. He helped me get out of this moment in my life.”

Ginger Renee Colonomos, known professionally as Ginger Zee, is Chief Meteorologist at ABC News.

Zee became Chief Meteorologist for GMA in December 2013 after Sam Champion accepted a job at the Weather Channel.
