GMA’s Deborah Roberts shares the news on Today host husband Al Roker as he recovers at home from a scary operation

DEBORAH Roberts has given an update on her husband Al Roker’s condition following difficult surgery.
The weatherman and Today Show host has had his knee replaced and is recovering at home.
On Sunday, Deborah took part in an Instagram Q&A with her fans and followers.
They tried to sound optimistic but admitted Al had made progress slower than expected.
“This was a more difficult and tough surgery, so it was a little harder to recover from,” she shared.
As Deborah explained, a knee that Al, 68, had replaced many years ago was having problems and had to be replaced.

“That makes it slow,” she continued. “He’s doing pretty well, but making a little slow progress.”
Deborah confessed that Al was in the room with them when she recorded their message but didn’t feel like going on camera.
She explained he wanted to thank everyone for thinking of him and is looking forward to getting back to work.
“Al is dying to come back but the doctor wants him to take it slow so he can continue to heal well.”

AS SURGERY
Al underwent knee surgery on May 9th, resulting in his absence from the morning show.
Fans began to worry because they hadn’t heard an update.
However, on Wednesday morning, the meteorologist posted an update on Instagram.
He shared a video of the sun shining through his hospital room window.
Al combined it with the song “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers.
And to let everyone know how he was doing, the presenter captioned his post: “Feeling grateful and #hopeful on this #first day with my #new knee. Who would have thought?”
STAND AND DELIVER
Days later, he filmed himself standing in his kitchen slicing cod to bake a cod cake.
Al has been home resting since his knee replacement last week.
The Today host said he’s making the cod cake in honor of Martha Stewart, who was on the show a few weeks ago.
But fans paid less attention to the recipe and more to the fact that Al was on his feet and dancing to the music in the background.
He jammed to the remix of Elton John and Britney Spears’ “Hold Me Closer.”
Fans were amazed at his recovery and used the comments to let him know.

A third added: “Wow! This is so good that after your surgery you will get up and cook.”
