Gina Lollobrigida’s parody was on Flintstone

Even if you didn’t recognize Gina’s parody of Flinstone, there’s a good chance you’d recognize the character who appeared briefly in the series from Fred’s singing.

The episode, titled Wilma the Maid, featured Lollobrickida, the Italian maid and parody of Gina who hires Fred’s wife to help her with the housework.

The fictional character appeared in Season 3 Episode 17 and was shown working with Welma and Fred until the latter’s anguished singing drives her away.

In the rest of the episode, Wilma pretends to be Barney and Betty’s maid in the absence of her former Italian maid.

The episode, which aired in 1963, was Lollobrickida’s only appearance on the series.

Fans remember the Italian maid feature

Gina’s death has prompted fans to look back to the memories of the Italian maid in Flintstones, who will go down in history as one of the series’ funniest characters.

A fan pays tribute to the late actress wrote: “Fred Flintstone sang about her too. RIP Ms. Lollobrigida”

“I can’t see Gina Lollobrigida’s name without hearing Fred Flintstone sing ‘Oh Lollobrigida, your food I diggida’ in my head.” said Another.

A third fan added: “I met Gina Lollobrigida from the old Flintstone cartoons. Of all the things to remember about a cartoon, this one stood out.”

Another tweet to read: “#RIPGinaLollobrigida My childhood memories have me singing Fred Flintstone’s ode to you “Oh, Gina Lolabrickida”.

Hollywood star is survived by her only son

Gina is survived by her only son, Milko Skofic Jr., with whom she was involved in a legal dispute before her death.

The late star had Milko in 1957 with her ex-husband Milko Skofic. Like his mother, he pursued an acting career and is known for his work on the television series VIP Swing.

Milko has reportedly obtained an injunction to freeze his mother’s assets because she claims she was cheated by her assistant.

The court reportedly ruled in his favor last year after it was revealed that Lollobrigida was “vulnerable” to exploitation due to her “weakened sense of reality”.
