Giga Chikadze recounts her failure on DWCS

Giga Chikadze recounts submission defeat against Austin Springer at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Series 10 in June 2018.

In a video uploaded to the official UFC YouTube channel, Chikadze opened up about the third round loss. He claimed that after dominating the round, he was stuck in the backside naked in the final moments of the fight.

‘Ninja’ also talks about his conversation with the UFC president White Dana that night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“That experience [from Contender Series] in MMA is one of the great things that happened to me to grow and become a better fighter. I won all 15 minutes and the last second I was knocked down by someone no one knows today. But I know very well. So it was on my mind for a long time. I remember after losing the game at the Contenders the night of the same day, we were sitting on hands to play craps and Dana and I were at the same table. He said please don’t worry, just get better and you’ll be back. I kept these words and that’s exactly what I did,” Chikadze said.

Giga Chikadze is expected to face Calvin Kattar at UFC Fight Night 200 later this month

Giga Chikadze will face featherweight 5th-ranked Calvin Kattar (May 22) at UFC Fight Night 200 on January 15, 2022. The event will be the UFC’s first in 2022.

Both fighters have never been knocked out in their respective careers and a win for either would bring them closer to a featherweight title.

Calvin Kattar vs Giga Chikadze is an interesting matchup. Kattar has never been knocked out in her 27 career fights and has never been knocked out in the UFC. While Giga is on a kill streak (Recent kills: 2, 1, 1, 1, 1). Will Giga be the first to defeat Kattar? 🤔

The last time Kattar fought the former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway at UFC Fight Island 7 in Abu Dhabi and lost by unanimous decision. He will return to the octagon after a year-long absence next Saturday. Giga Chikadze recounts her failure on DWCS
