GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM has been named Ligue 1’s ‘Flop of the Year’ – 12 months after his glamor switch from Liverpool to PSG.
The Dutch midfielder switched from Kop to a supporting player at Mauricio Pochettino’s runaway French champions.
And “by a wide margin” the 31-year-old topped a poll of 100,000 fans voting on Ligue 1’s biggest failure.
The ex-Newcastle hero has not played a full game for PSG in more than two months at the end of the season.
That led to ex-Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal dropping him from the Netherlands squad.
After admitting he was “not entirely happy” at the start of his PSG career, Wijnaldum is now worried about his World Cup spot this winter.

The ex-PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord star featured in 22 of PSG’s 38 Ligue 1 games after they beat Barcelona on his free transfer.
But he never fully recovered from Pochettino, who preferred to pair Idrissa Gueye with Marco Verratti earlier in the season.
However, now Pochettino is being urged to leave despite reclaiming the title by 15 points from Lille.
It is claimed the former Tottenham manager has ‘agreed a severance package’.
