Gaspard Ulliel dies: ‘Moon Knight’ actor dies after skiing accident

French actor Gaspard Ulliel, the next to be seen in the upcoming Disney+ movie Moonlight Knight series, passed away at the age of 37 after a skiing accident, according to the French news agency AFP.

Ulliel was reportedly hospitalized on Tuesday after colliding with another skier in the Savoie region of the Alps, but ultimately succumbed to a serious head injury. TVLine has contacted a Ulliel representative for more details.

Actors who will appear in Moonlight Knight as the villain Anton Mogart aka Midnight Man. The film premieres on Wednesday, March 30; since the beginning of October, Moonlight Knight completed filming in Budapest and is heading back to Atlanta to wrap up production. A Disney+ representative did not immediately respond to TVLine’s request for comment on any unfinished footage of Ulliel.

Before taking on his role in Moonlight Knight, Ulliel’s credits include the French series Il Etait Une Seconde Fois (released in English as Twice once), the 2016 movie Juste la fin du Monde (for which he has won numerous awards and nominations), the 2014 film Saint Laurent, and the title role in 2007 Hannibal Rising prequel, the fifth installment of the Hannibal Lecter series.

Ulliel is survived by his 6-year-old son, Orso, and his girlfriend, Gaëlle Piétri.
