FOUR adults and three children died in a suspected gas poisoning incident while they were sleeping, the report said.
The police responded to a house in Moorhead, Minnesota around 8 p.m. Saturday after relatives conducting a welfare check found their lifeless bodies.
The police have not officially revealed the identities of the victims, but local media Digital-Hondaras reported that Belin Humberto Hernandez, Elder Noah Hernandez, Breylin Favela Hernandez, Mike Bradley Hernandez, Earhest Mariela, Marleny Door, and Marbeli Hernandez died in the tragedy.
Their cause of death has not yet been released and their bodies have been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Police said there was no sign of violence or forced entry and police were not actively searching for any suspects.
A neighbor, who did not wish to be identified, told La Prensa: “Last night was quite chaotic with all the lights and people.”
Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson told KVRR: “This is an absolutely horrifying tragedy, all the more poignant because it is so close to the holiday. My heart aches for the family and friends who received this sad news over the weekend.
“Our community mourns them during this heartbreaking time.
“Know that there is no threat to the community and the Moorhead Police Department, with support from the Moorhead Fire Department, is investigating.”
The Moorhead Area School District is preparing support to help support students after the tragedy.
