Richarlison would not feature in Arsenal’s starting XI, claims their former midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Everton star is set to join Tottenham in a £50m deal, rising to £60m with add-ons.

Richarlison, 25, was signed to add to Spurs’ already powerful attack but Wilshere is stunned by his rivals’ swoop.

Appearing on talkSPORT, the 30-year-old said: “I think he improves the squad, definitely… he gives them something different.

“I wouldn’t say I’m gutted.

“He’s 25, so not young anymore. There comes a point when you have to convert that potential into something, but to be fair if anyone can, it’s Antonio Conte.

“I wouldn’t say I’m devastated as an Arsenal fan but he could be one to watch, he could be really good.”

Asked further if he would have the Brazilian at the Emirates, Wilshere added: “Yes, but I don’t think he’s coming to the XI.

“He would definitely fight for it and be a good part of the squad but I don’t think he’ll make the starting XI.”
