Fyre Festival 2: Fraudster Billy McFarland’s ‘Cheating Party’ returns with £400 tickets selling out in hours
TICKETS for Fyre Festival 2 sold out in hours after convicted cheater Billy McFarland decided to rekindle the ‘cheater’ party.
The originally botched festival was supposed to take place over two weekends on a private beach in the Bahamas six years ago.

Party-goers paid up to £9,200 a head and got opulent accommodation in luxury villas and decadent dishes prepared by the world’s best chefs.
But players were stunned upon arrival, as they were greeted with chaotic scenes that some dubbed a “post-apocalyptic nightmare.”
Shocked attendees were housed in FEMA emergency tents and served cold cheese sandwiches in foam tubs instead of fine dining.
Fresh off his four-year sentence, McFarland has now set the stage for another exclusive party island experience.
The 31-year-old claims it took a day for the first 100 $499 (£400) pre-sale tickets on the website to sell out for the revamped event.
And McFarland said its unnamed partners are “planning Fyre Festival 2 for late next year.”
However, the event’s website does not list an attendee list, and details as to where the party will actually be held are vague.
The revamped festival is scheduled to take place on December 6th next year, with only the “Caribbean Sea” given as the venue.
In a video shared on social media, McFarland – who was sentenced to pay back £23million to investors in 2018 – said he hatched the plan for a repeat while he was in solitary confinement.
He told his 22.6k Instagram followers: “We are planning Fyre Festival 2 for late next year.”
“It was absolutely the wildest journey to get here and it all started during the seven months in solitary confinement.
“I wrote this 50-page plan of how I would address this general interest and demand in Fyre and how it would require my ability to bring people together from around the world to make the impossible possible, and how I would find the best partners.” in the world to allow me to be myself while delivering on Fyre’s vision at the highest level.”
McFarland added, “In the meantime, we will be hosting pop-ups and events around the world. Folks, this is your chance to be there.”
“That’s all I’ve been working toward. Let’s go the fuck out.”
Future tickets that have not yet been released will cost between $799 (£626) and $7,999 (£6,267) according to the price list.
McFarland’s recent post doesn’t provide any information on what guests can expect for their money, aside from the opportunity to “hop in”.
A disclaimer on the website states: “The FII date is subject to change. Pre-events and pop-ups are yet to be announced, but FYRE will host at least four events prior to FFII.”
‘HUNGER GAMES’
Previously, guests compared the failed Fyre Festival to the Hunger Games.
It was co-organized by rapper Ja Rule – who apologized at the time – and promoted by influencers like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.
Artists such as Disclosure, Migos and Blink-182 were on the program, but the entire festival collapsed when at least 18 acts pulled out days before it was due to begin.
This meant party-goers were stuck on the island due to the debacle, which was chronicled in the now-iconic Netflix documentary FYRE.
McFarland was convicted of cheating in 2018 after selling 8000 tickets to the original cheating event.
A year later, McFarland pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud and was sentenced to six years in prison and paying millions to investors.
He was released two years early in March 2022.
