Musk insists that a small monthly fee is the only way to combat bots.

“This is the only way I can think of to combat massive armies of bots,” Musk explained in one Live conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Musk believes a fee will make it harder for bots to create unlimited accounts to use X.

“Since a bot only costs a fraction of a penny, we call it a tenth of a penny, but even if it has to pay a few dollars or so, a small amount, the effective cost of bots is very high,” Musk said.

Musk warns at historic closed-door Senate meeting that AI poses a threat to civilization

“You have to get a new payment method every time you have a new bot.

“In my opinion, this is actually the only defense against huge armies of bots, because if the AI gets really good, it can actually pass these capture tests better than humans.”

It is unclear whether Musk will actually introduce a fee.

QUIT TWITTER

Countless people used X, formerly known as Twitter. to share their opinion on the small monthly payment.

One tweet said: “Well there are the poor like me. My budget is too tight to add even a small additional bill. Bye, X.”

Another said: “If Twitter really charges a monthly payment then that’s as far as social media goes as far as I’m concerned.”

Together with: “X will definitely be an ex soon.”

Another tweet said: “Time to go.”

That tweet said: “Even if I were interested in paying to use Twitter, I don’t think I would be interested in paying to use a version of Twitter made up entirely of people who are willing to pay to use Twitter.”
