Fulham fans rage at Ivan Toney over Brentford striker’s ‘disrespectful’ celebration in 3-2 win

FULHAM fans were furious with Ivan Toney tonight.

That’s down to the Brentford forward’s ‘disrespectful’ celebration of Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Toney scored his first goal since pleading guilty to FA betting charges as the Bees beat their London neighbors 3-2.

The striker stayed calm from the penalty spot and shot past Bernd Leno into the goal.

And while celebrating with the fans, Toney cheekily twisted his hand to his ear.

The same move is used by Fulham striker Mitrovic, who clashed with Toney earlier this season.

Mitrovic claimed he is Toney’s “idol” after the Englishman shared the same celebration in Fulham’s 3-2 league win in August.

The Serb, who briefly played with Toney at Newcastle, had the last laugh at Craven Cottage by scoring a last-second winner.

But Toney made sure to brag tonight as more goals from Ethan Pinnock and Mathias Jensen sealed victory for the home side.

However, some Fulham fans weren’t too pleased with Toney’s efforts to emulate Mitrovic’s celebration once again.

One supporter said: “Why is Ivan doing Toney Mitrovic’s celebration? How disrespectful.”

Another explained: “Smug little p***k Toney is – copied Mitro’s celebration at home, now done it again.”

One remarked, “Toney is a huge asshole.”

Another added: “Toney is so ap***k making the Mitrovic celebration loooool again.”

After copying Mitrovic, Toney capped off his celebration with a thumb suck.

The ace has just become a new father.

And Toney explained both gestures, saying: “I’m a fan of Mitrovic so I have to do his celebration and it was for my son too.”

In another penalty shoot-out on 28thth Commenting on his career so far, Toney added: “The wait doesn’t matter, the longer the better because I can get away and think about other things like going on vacation and chilling.

“The goalkeeper didn’t move, but I always have a spot where I put the ball. I only changed the way I take penalties after I missed one.”

Brentford manager Thomas Frank was full of praise for Toney, adding: “I take all the credit, it’s me alone. No it’s Ivan, that’s the technique he had when he arrived in Brentford.

“He’s the best penalty taker in the world for a number of reasons, his strategy, he’s practicing it and he’s very cool. He keeps doing it anyway.

“It’s a unique ability with him, I think generally before that situation where the case was before that unique ability to focus on matches and training and he’s done that time and time again so that doesn’t surprise me.

“He doesn’t like the situation, but he has the highest concentration.
