FromSoftware Can Work On New Armored Cores

Looks like FromSoftware isn’t content with just working on one of the biggest games of the year. Looks like the developer is also working on a new Armored Core game. The news first came out on Resetera, where Red Licorice announced that they had completed a survey for “a new Armored Core game with description, screenshots, and two 30-second videos of the game”.

They go on to say that the first video features a boss fight scene, while the second one involves some over-world footage in a snowy area. Although they shared a screenshot of the description, the images and videos were avoided as they have a unique ID watermarked into them.

The description notes a “sci-fi world created by Hidetaka Miyazaki” with “From Software’s unique and profound sci-fi worldview and layered story.” The game is a TPS (third-person shooter) mechanical action title that allows you to move around an overwhelmingly scaled map representing a unique sci-fi world with its own twists and turns. dynamic mech action, “read the alleged survey.” You will face strong enemies and fierce battles both at long and short range with guns and knives.”

In a follow-up post, Red Liquorice tried to describe the video as best they could, saying, “The boss fight looks pretty soulful – the long-range gunfire reminds me of Virtua On, it’s the scaling system. my review, I’m not a mech fan and haven’t played any AC games. The player character in a white mech suit approached the larger robot boss and fought with an energy sword or laser, this looks Soul style.”

“The game on the field, players in the same white shirt appear to be following several other players at a distance (co-op?),” they continued. “and they’re walking (possibly flying close to the ground) through a snowy area toward a great wall or gate, which seems like Soulsy, the vastness of the architecture, but it’s not. must be a castle like a worn metal/stone wall or gate. It’s pretty short.”

There’s no word or official statement from FromSoftware yet, so you might want to watch this news with a pinch of salt.
