From bloody saw to cleaning supplies, five key pieces of evidence that led police to charge Brian Walshe with his wife’s murder

Ana Walshe’s husband has been charged with his wife’s murder after cops found a bloodied hacksaw and cleaning supplies bought by the suspect.

After a nearly two-week search for the Massachusetts mother, police determined they had enough evidence to charge her husband, 46-year-old Brian Walshe, with murder on Tuesday.

Walshe was previously arrested on January 8 and initially charged with misleading police investigators, to which he pleaded not guilty, while they searched for the missing mother.

During the Jan. 9 arraignment against Brian on his first charge, prosecutors uncovered key evidence related to Ana’s disappearance.

Police reportedly found “bloodstains and a broken knife” in the basement of the family’s Cohasset home, according to prosecutors.

A transfer station in Peabody near Brian’s mother’s home was also searched by authorities.

Video footage from the store also caught Brian reportedly buying $450 worth of cleaning supplies.

Prosecutors allege that Brian was seen at a Home Depot in Rockland, a day after Ana was last seen on New Year’s Day.

Brian allegedly told police that on January 2 he only went out to get ice cream with his son.

Brian was reportedly caught by surveillance video at the store where he appeared to have bought mops, a bucket, drapes and various types of duct tape, prosecutors said in court.

He was reportedly wearing a surgical mask and gloves in the store and paid for his items with cash, according to a police report.

Brian was caught on video with his son at a juice bar in Norwell on January 2, footage obtained by 7NEWS shows.

Prosecutors allege that Brian’s lies to investigators about his whereabouts could have bought him time to clean up the evidence.

A bizarre Google search by Brian was also shared with CNN by police sources.

He reportedly googled, “How to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body.” Ana weighs 115 pounds, according to police.

Brian also asked his landlord if he had security cameras installed, noting that his wife was missing. NBC10 reports.

ANA IS MISSING

The 39-year-old mother was last seen at her home in Cohasset, about 30 miles southeast of Boston, in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Cohasset Police say Ana was supposed to get a ride from her home to Logan Airport and catch a flight to Washington, DC, where she worked as a real estate manager.

However, authorities confirmed that Ana never boarded her flight and could not verify that she was even included in a ride-sharing service.

Ana was reported missing by her employer, Tishman Speyer, on January 4 after failing to show up for work.

Investigators were unable to trace Ana’s electronic footprint after learning her cellphone had been turned off since the New Year.
