Frank James arrested and hit on TERROR charges in subway shooting after prolific offender dodged police for 30 hours

THE suspect in the Brooklyn subway shooting has been arrested and faces terrorism charges over the attack after the prolific perpetrator evaded police for 30 hours.

At least 29 people were injured Tuesday after a gunman wearing a gas mask detonated smoke grenades and opened fire on a rush-hour subway train in Brooklyn, authorities said.

Frank Jacob was named an interested party in the shooting during a law enforcement news conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Just a day after the shooting, the suspected shooter was reportedly arrested in the East Village. Manhattan.

Police say they received a tip from Crime Stoppers claiming James was with them MC Donalds – but when they arrived, he was gone.

However, they soon caught up James and arrested him without incident. James is reportedly now being held at the 9th Precinct.

The police confirmed this on Wednesday 62-year-old James was wanted for opening fire on an “N” train at the 36th Street station.

They tweeted: “On 4/12/22 at 8:30 am, Frank Robert James fired numerous shots into an ‘N’ subway car at the 36th St & 4th Ave subway station, seriously injuring 10 people.

“Anyone with information about the incident or his whereabouts should contact @NYPDTips or call 1-800-577-TIPS.”

Online, James said he went through the city’s psychiatric system and experienced emotional abuse that would make someone “get a gun and shoot.”

James’ The YouTube channel, which now has over 500 subscribers, has several lengthy videos in which he talks about race, politics and gun violence.

Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell called his posts – prompting officers to tighten security for New York City Mayor Eric Adams – “concerning.”

NYPD Chief James Essig added Wednesday that James’ arrest history in New York includes nine prior arrests dating from 1992-98. He also has three arrests in New Jersey from 1991-2007.

One Glock 17, three Glock magazines, shell casings, bullets, two smoke grenades detonated, two undetonated, a hatchet and one U-Haul button were found at the scene, police said.

The key led investigators to a van that was found in Brooklyn, but its connection to the case is currently unknown.

The attack turned the morning commute into a scene of horror.

Smoke filled the train amid an onslaught of at least 33 bullets, screaming drivers running through a station and bloodied people lying on the platform.

One passenger, Jordan Javier, thought the first popping sound he heard was a textbook falling.

Then there was another bang, people were moving towards the front of the car and he noticed there was smoke, he said.

As the train pulled into the station, people ran out and were escorted to another train across the platform. Passengers cried and prayed during the ride, Javier said.

“I’m just grateful to be alive,” he said.

Five gunshot victims were in critical condition but were expected to survive.

At least a dozen people who escaped gunshot wounds were treated for smoke inhalation and other injuries.

The shooter’s motive was unknown.
