Four dead, including teenagers and eight injured after ‘family mowed down by guest’ at Spanish wedding

FOUR people have died, including a teenager, and eight others were injured after a family was allegedly mowed down by a guest during a brawl at a wedding in Spain.

The horror incident happened, according to emergency services, in a restaurant in a suburb of Madrid.

A brawl is believed to have broken out between two people and quickly escalated into a fight on Avenida de la Constitución in Torrejón de Ardoz.

During the altercation, a vehicle drove down the street at full speed and repeatedly ran over members of the same family.

Four people – a 70-year-old woman and three men aged 40, 60 and 17 – died from broken bones and multiple injuries.

Paramedics were called to the scene at 2:44 a.m. local time this morning.

Among the injured were two middle-aged men with broken legs and pelvises and two women with head injuries.

Two others were “possibly seriously injured,” according to the emergency services.

The 35-year-old driver of the vehicle that allegedly caused the death was arrested by the Guardia Civil in Seseña.

He was stopped about 25 miles away several hours after the incident.

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 15, who were also in the car at the time, were arrested. The police assume that a fourth person was on the run.

According to local newspaper Heraldo, the vehicle was completely destroyed in the hit-and-run operation and is said to have still been with some of the victims’ remains.

The police are said to have found around 5000 euros, which were intended as a wedding gift for the bride and groom.

The incident is being investigated by agents from the National Police’s Murder Squad and the Scientific Police Brigade.

Footage from the crime scene shows numerous ambulances and paramedics helping the victims.

A total of 22 health teams were on site.
