Fortnite adds Nick Fury to the game

I had it with these damn characters in this damn game! Okay, maybe not, but I just wanted to thank Samuel L. Jackson, for the director of SHIELD, Nick Fury, for making his way into Fortnite.

Fury has landed on the island to “root out the corruption of the Cube. You can purchase his outfit from the shop separately or as part of a package that includes a back bling, pickaxe, and a pickaxe, glider.

The FIELD Pack back bling is a sleek backpack with two pistols attached to it. It’s not the flashiest, but that’s the point when you’re a spy. Director’s Scythe’s pickaxe isn’t a pickaxe or a scythe, but a cool-looking battle ax that “cuts through layers of armor”. And the First-Strike Infiltration glider looks like a high-tech jet with the SHIELD logo and blue flames. You can also get a background image of Fury looking out of the Quinjet’s loading bay.

While I mentioned Samuel L.Jackson, and the images of the character show the bald head, French beard, and black coat of the MCU version, he doesn’t look like much of an actor.

Fortnite’s second chapter will finally end on December 2. This means another big event is coming to the game. A trailer shows the characters walking towards The Convergence, with the Queen of the cube standing atop it. It’s not yet clear what the event will look like, but considering Fortnite’s past record, it will be on a grand scale. Players who log in before December 4 will also receive a 225,000 XP bonus. Fury might want to call the Avengers for this.

Epic Games recently acquired Rock Band studio Harmonix as part of a plan to “build the metaverse”. It’s not yet clear how, but there will be integration with Fortnite, as Vice President of Game Development Alain Tascan said “Music has brought millions of people together in Fortnite, from emojis our exposure to concerts and global events. Together with the Harmonix team, we will transform the way players experience music, from passive listeners to active participants.”
