A TIKTOKER claiming to be a former Walmart employee has warned Walmart shoppers: Don’t steal.

She revealed that the self-checkout staff can pause the machine if they think you’re stealing and say you’ll definitely get caught.

“First things first: If you’ve been to Walmart, you’ve probably been to these self-checkout points,” said TikToker, who passed @obeygodwoman on the platform, speak as she pointed to a photo of self-checkout kiosks.

“What you don’t know is that Walmart employees working in the self-checkout area carry devices called TC devices.

“With these TC devices, we can see everything you’re buying, the total amount you’re buying, and the price of each item.”

She then shows a photo of what the employee’s TC device looks like when a person is checking out, and it shows exactly what she mentioned, plus the number of items the person had. scanning.

The former employee went on to reveal that employees suspected of theft can pause the checkout process at any kiosk and make it look like the machine is frozen with devices.

She shared a photo of a kiosk showing an error message, but she also said your checkout screen might just freeze so there’s nothing else you can do.

“At that point, you have no choice but to call for help,” she notes.

“And once we go through, we pretend there’s something wrong with the machine.”

She continued: “Basically at the time what they did was if you already had stuff in your bag and you were stealing, they would take everything out of the bag and say like, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll do it. calling you on another phone, there is definitely something wrong with this one. ‘

“And at that point, they’ll just take you to a main counter where there’s a real person to withdraw your money.”

The former Walmart employee said the purpose of her video was to teach people not to try to steal from the checkout.

“They can see everything you’re buying, everything you’re scanning.

“You will be arrested and they will suspend the transaction for you.”

The video received a ton of reactions and one person even claimed to have seen this happen in a Walmart they were shopping at.

“I saw this happen to a woman in a shop here… and ALL of what you say is TRUE,” they wrote.

And to those who argued that no one was paying attention to their local Walmarts, the video creator responded: “[At] Our Walmart, we have managers and supervisors who follow incessantly; we can’t even pull out our phones unless we have to. “
