Former UFC fighter Stipe Miocic sworn in as Ohio firefighter – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – What will you do when you retire from being one of the best mixed martial arts fighters in the world?

For a former champion, that means serving his community. Former UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is sworn in as a full-time firefighter in Westlake, Ohio.

But this is nothing new for Ohio natives. Even as the defending heavyweight champion, Miocic was still a part-time firefighter in two other Cleveland suburbs.

He told reporters he did it because he needed a career after he finished in the ring.
