KATHY Manning, the 1984 Mississippi winner, has died after battling coronavirus.
The 59-year-old model, once the 1st runner-up of Miss America, passed away on December 23 in Collierville, Tennessee, according to an online obituary.
I don’t know if she has been vaccinated against Covid.
Manning is best known for winning the Miss beauty pageant Mississippi in 1984.
She has also served as a weather reporter for WHBQ 13, sunscreen model and recording artist.
Manning was the 2nd runner-up of Miss America and a semi-finalist at Miss America.
Her curator says: “For many who know her, she’s someone who enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life – and really getting to know them for who they are and what they’ve been through. bring them joy.”
“She left a mark on nearly everyone she met. During her high school, college, and recent graduation years, she was known as Mississippi’s Lover.
“And after moving to Memphis, many saw her as the heart of the city.”
The model is survived by her three children.
