TIFFANY YOUNG, the wife of former England rugby union star Tom, has died after a brave eight-year battle with cancer.
Tiffany was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma — a type of blood cancer — in 2014.
She battled the disease for three years before being told it was incurable.
The Youngs’ club, Leicester Tigers, confirmed the tragic news on their website.
A statement said: “The Leicester Tigers are deeply saddened by the news that Tiffany Youngs has passed away following her heroic battle with disease.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, we send our condolences to the Youngs and Sands families.
“The club will not be releasing any further details and asks that the privacy of the Youngs and Sands families be respected at this time.”
Tiffany is survived by former England international Tom, 35, with 28 caps and daughter Maisie.
A host of elite rugby clubs sent their best wishes, while fans quickly paid tribute to the brave Tiffany.
One tweeted: “Desperately sad news on such a brave woman.
“The length of Tiff’s life was unbearably short, but the breadth is measured by the hearts she touched and the good she did.
“I hope this will bring some comfort to Tom, Maisie and the family at some point. Rest in peace.”
