Ronaldo’s crown will be difficult to knock off
Man City goal phenom Erling Haaland is 22 MILES ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo’s club goals – but he needs to pick up the pace to beat him by the age of 37, he writes Joshua Mbu.
Haaland has scored a staggering 155 club goals in his short career, 20 of them in the opening months of the 2022/23 season for Man City.
The 22-year-old has scored 15 goals in nine Premier League games and five in three in the Champions League.
By the time Ronaldo was Haaland’s age and playing for Manchester United in the early 2000s, the Portuguese ace had only scored 82 goals.
That’s 73 fewer strikes than the Norwegian superstar.

But Ronaldo would, of course, be scoring in his mid to late 20s, and an impressive 50+ goals in six straight seasons between the ages of 25 and 30.
Haaland would need to pick up the pace for the next 15 years to match CR7’s incredible performance.
The young forward would need to hit 45 goals a season at club level to match Ronaldo when he turns 37.
At his current rate, he’s expected to score just north of the 600 goal mark.
