Football News LIVE: Barca line up Bruno Guimarae’s transfer, Chelsea humiliated at Graham Potter’s Brighton return

Pique’s boot mishap

Gerard Pique hilariously asked Sergio Busquets to untie a knot in the laces of his boot.

That is after he was completely caught off guard when he came on for Barcelona.

The hilarious moment came 15 minutes from time when Jules Kounde went down injured.

The Frenchman, signed from Sevilla in the summer, was unable to continue as he struggled with muscle problems.

And Xavi Hernandez immediately signaled that veteran defender Pique should come on in place of Kounde.

But the Spaniard was far from ready to make the leap from the bench to the pitch.

When it became clear that Kounde would drop out, Pique was still in his flip flops and without socks or shin guards.

He slowly began to get ready when it was clear he was needed.

But with so many things to do, Pique asked his pal Busquets to help him untie a knot in his shoelaces.

After the game, coach Xavi said: “Pique wasn’t wearing boots or shin guards because he didn’t expect to be brought on as a substitute.

“He didn’t have time to warm up either.”
