FLOYD MAYWEATHER called Will Smith EVERY DAY for ten days after he beat Chris Rock at the Oscars.
Smith met Comedian Rock live on stage because of a joke he made about his wife, Jada Pinkett.
The Hollywood star, who won an Oscar later in the night, has had to apologize for his actions.
And he revealed it was boxing legend Mayweather, 45, who tried to comfort him while he was going through a dark time following the incident.
Smith, 54, said in a video obtained by TMZ Sports: “I also want to say something about Floyd.
“So we met, we saw each other but we weren’t like friends.
“And the day after the Oscars, he called me every day for ten days.
“And he said, ‘Ay, you know yourself as a champion, don’t you? You well? You know yourself as a champion, don’t you? I want you to hear my voice say it.’
“That was every day he called me… and it’s like, that’s my guy forever right there.”
Smith, who played the legendary Muhammad Ali in 2001, later issued a public apology to Rock.

He said, “I’m human and I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of shit.”
Smith, who won an Oscar for his role in King Richard, said he reached out to Rock but never heard from him.
As revealed by The Sun, the Fresh Prince icon is in talks with Netflix over a telltale biopic about his life after hitting rock.
