Five jobs at risk of disappearing if ‘humans are replaced by AI bots’ – could your profession be at risk?
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE bots are fueling fears millions of Brits could lose their jobs in the near future.
Experts believe ChatGPT – a new artificial intelligence system capable of creating human-like text – could replace humans in several professions.
You can feed it a command prompt and it will create a block of text that will continue.
When it works properly, it reads in natural language as if it was written by a human.
And it can even have conversations and learn from things you’ve said.
The stunning app can talk to you like a human, write poetry, give you baking tips, solve complicated puzzles and much more.
Some companies, including creative agency IZSRI, have already started using AI to automate writing tasks.
And its creative director and head of AI, Zak Saidi, believes more and more humans will be replaced by artificial intelligence over the next three years.
Here are the jobs he thinks will be the first…
Mr Saidi believes people producing online copies could be the first to get the axe.
He told Mail Online: “We work with a lot of copywriters and there is certainly a lot of talk in the industry about replacing copywriters with AI technology.
“ChatGPT is free, copywriters aren’t – we expect more and more tech-savvy small businesses will turn to ChatGPT and its AI counterparts as they create more content.”
Mr Saidi believes the retail sector will face “serious job losses” due to AI.
He explained, “As we’ve seen, checkout clerks, customer service assistants, and personal shoppers are slowly being replaced by AI bots—powered by exactly the same type of artificial learning technology that ChatGPT operates on.”
ChatGPT can also write computer code in languages like Python – meaning software developer jobs could be at risk.
Mr Saidi said, “ChatGPT generates lines of HTML code without having to think and resolves complex code sequence errors infinitely faster than a human.
“This challenges the role of the supporting software engineer to a certain extent.
“While you still need a human to plan a software development project, ChatGPT can act as a crucial tool for fixing broken code and building basic applications – a role that used to be reserved for young software engineers.”
Mr. Saidi explained that AI can also generate images.
But graphic designers may be looking for inspiration from artificial intelligence rather than as a substitute for their independently designed work.
