This is the first picture of a British mother of three killed in a horror speedboat crash in Turkey.
Anna Capuano reportedly died in the arms of a tour guide after sustaining severe head injuries when the speedboat she was traveling in collided with a water taxi.
The 44-year-old died shortly after the crash while her partner Peter Oxford, 39, remains in intensive care in the resort of Marmaris.
Anna, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, mother of two daughters, 11 and 13, and a son, 22, had gone to Turkey with Peter for a sun holiday.
Tour operator Mustafa Bey revealed how he cradled the dying mother after she was taken ashore.
“It’s a tragedy. She died in my arms. It’s so terrible what happened,” he told MailOnline.
“There has never been an accident like this in Marmaris. Everyone is shocked and upset.”
He said that Peter was in a coma from the crash, but said he has now regained consciousness.
However, he was “traumatized”.
Anna and Peter reportedly got together recently and enjoyed a seven-day TUI holiday at the five-star Lalila Blue hotel.
The tragedy then happened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday noon when the speedboat they were riding in was hit by a speeding sea taxi.
Shocking images on local news sites showed the yellow and white death boat with part of its hull ruptured from the force of the impact.
Four other people in the sea taxi – the 22-year-old captain and three tourists – suffered less serious injuries and were taken to the resort town’s Ahu Hospital.
Anna’s ex-husband Jonathan Capuano said: “Anna is a nice, friendly person and wanted to go to Turkey with her new partner.”
Her friends and neighbors said she was looking forward to her holiday in Marmari, a popular holiday hotspot for Brits.
“She had separated from her husband about a year ago and had recently met a new partner. It was their first trip together,” said Baljeet Randhawa.
Another neighbor added: “She had just met a new partner and seemed happy. It’s a terrible thing that’s happening, shocking.”
Turkish authorities are investigating the crash and the British Foreign Office is supporting Anna’s family and the other Britons injured in the crash.
