Authorities say the fire is burning at the Home Depot store on Blossom Hill Road across from Oakridge Mall.

There are currently no reports of injuries.

As of 7:07 p.m. local time, the San Jose Fire Department encouraged nearby residents to protect themselves at the scene.

“If you live/work in the area of ​​this fire on Bascom Ave and smell smoke, we advise you to protect yourself on the spot. Close all doors and windows to minimize smoke ingress from origin unit,” they tweeted.

The San Jose Fire Department tweeted in an update that nearby Wagly Veterinary Hospital and Pet Campus were being evacuated.

“Those looking to reunite with pets should head to Golfland on Winfield. Updates will continue to be released as they become available,” the tweet concludes.

Dozens of firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
