“F***ing trash” – Arsenal fans are furious as the club increases season ticket prices by 5% but reduces the number of games included

ARSENAL supporters have criticized the club for increasing season ticket prices by five per cent – despite the fact that FOUR FEWER games will be included.

The Gooners currently have to shell out 26 home games per season up front.

That includes 19 in the Premier League as well as five European home games plus two in the Emirates in the FA Cup.

Supporters will be refunded if Arsenal fail to meet these match requirements.

However, the north London side have now postponed that plan entirely for the 2023/24 season after consultation with supporters.

The 19 first division home games and three further European Cup games are now included.

And although the number of games has fallen, the price of a standing room season ticket has increased by five percent.

Lower tier season ticket prices are up six percent, while upper tier prices are up four percent.

Premier League leaders Arsenal appear secure in next season’s Champions League and they have told fans they are indeed considering a £113 reduction rather than if they had been in the competition this season.

A statement from the club said: “The move follows ongoing feedback from season ticket holders who want more flexibility in attending games and support our desire to make more tickets available to our growing membership base.

“By removing the four cup credits from the season ticket, members will have up to 150,000 additional tickets available for purchase next season.”

And it added: “If we qualify for the Europa League next season, full price season ticket holders will pay an average of £76 less than they are currently this season.”

While some supporters will be happy with the news, others took to Twitter to vent their anger after the announcement.

One wrote: “Why does my LOW tier season ticket increase in price by 6% but the UPPER tier prices only increase by 4%?

“Why would you punish lower level members? Price adjustments should be fair to all members. Nonsense.”

Another commented: “Arsenal have announced they will increase prices by 5% which obviously sucks.

“I guess they figured if they announced it while we’re still up there would be less of a fuss.”

While another added: “So Arsenal season tickets are up 8% in two seasons.”
