The Turkish chef and Instagram star – real name Nusret Gökçe – was spotted trying to take a selfie with the players and even touch the winner’s trophy – against strict regulations.
According to FIFA guidelines, only world champions and heads of state are allowed to touch the trophy.
According to its website: “One of the most recognizable sporting symbols in the world and a priceless icon, the original FIFA World Cup Trophy is only to be touched and held by a very select group of people, which includes former FIFA World Cup winners and Heads of State .”
Now FIFA are conducting an internal investigation to see how the chef got on the pitch as he has no business relationship with FIFA and was not invited on the pitch by Gianni Infantino Sky Sports News reports.
A FIFA spokesman said: “Following an investigation, FIFA has identified individuals gaining unauthorized access to the pitch after the closing ceremony at Lusail Stadium on December 18. Appropriate internal measures will be taken.”
Footage showed the chef harassing the Argentina side as they celebrated their cup win with their families after the nerve-wracking shooting.
He was seen grabbing Lionel Messi’s shoulder at least twice as the stunned megastar tried to shake him off.
Bae’s persistence paid off when he finally snapped a selfie with the forward who was hailed as the greatest of all time.
The chef was also seen forcing himself into lineups with other stars as they clutched the famous golden trophy.
He has now been banned from playing in the US Open Cup, the equivalent of the English FA Cup.
Action is being taken against staff who gave him access after social media footage showed his abusive exchanges with players including Lionel Messi, who did his best to avoid Salt Bae.
In a series of videos posted to his own Instagram, the steakhouse magnate interrupted the likes of Angel di Maria, Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martinez as they posed with the World Cup, leaving the trio looking awkward.
Salt Bae’s actions sparked anger among football fans.
It comes after he was banned from attending a US sporting event following his conduct at the final.
The US Open Cup tweeted, “Salt Bae is hereby disqualified from the 2023 US Open Cup Finals.”
The US Open Cup is a knockout competition involving teams from the MLS and other national tournaments.

It is unknown if Salt Bae had the 2023 event on his radar.
But now the decision was made for him by the tournament bosses.
