FANS think a Ferrari driver is teasing an F1 23 announcement on Instagram.
Charles Leclerc, who currently drives for Scuderia Ferrari, has teased that the reveal isn’t far away.
Players expect the next entry in the series to be released in Summer 2023.
Leclerc posted a picture of himself wearing Ferrari merch on the social media site.
Unusually, however, this outfit was blue instead of the team’s signature red.
He was seen next to his car, which was adorned with the flag of his home country, Monaco.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted Leclerc wearing a microphone, suggesting it was recorded as part of a promotional shoot.
Captioning the photo, Leclerc wrote: “I like the sweater and I like the car. More to come with EA Sports F1.”
The last entry in the F1 series of games, F1 22 was announced in April and released in July.
This is also the timeline of F1 21, the first game to be released in the series by EA Sports.
Steam, PlayStation and Xbox already have offers for F1 23, and players can add the game to their wishlists.
Last year’s entry had a new mode that would allow drivers to collect sports cars and customize their hobbies.
Fans have speculated that the promo shot could have been for this new lifestyle mode.
The setting for the promo image would perfectly match the mode’s usual settings.
Leclerc has been on the cover of F1 22 with a number of other drivers and he could appear on the next cover as well.
Two-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen was announced as an Official Brand Partner of EA Sports earlier this year.
Verstappen is likely to take pole position in marketing F1 23.
Leclerc and Verstappen are both known as passionate gamers outside of the F1 series.
