BROWNSVILLE, TX (KTRK) — The man wanted in fatal Father’s Day shooting has been arrested at the Brownsville BThe entry point at the Border Line &M was reached on Sunday, according to the Brownsville Police Department.
Anthony Campos Galvan Jr., 29, was wanted for allegedly killing 30-year-old Nestor Saldana on June 18, 2023.
Police say it happened at the Magnolia Park Apartments in east Houston. According to police, there was a dispute between the men in the pool area of the apartment, but it is unclear what it was about.
Houston police filed charges against Galvan in July in connection with that murder and urged everyone to keep an eye out for him.
Now, more than two months after the shooting, Brownsville police said Galvan was pulled over by Customs and Border Protection in Houston because of the outstanding warrant. They say he tried to return to Texas from Mexico.
Galvan is currently awaiting extradition to Houston and is being held at the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center.
