Fans ‘worked out’ Janine Butcher’s dark motive with Mick; plus Coronation Street and Emmerdale

EastEnders spoilers: Linda Carter is spiraling out of control

In the upcoming scenes of the BBC One soap, Linda finds it difficult to move on and after many outbursts, including a fight with Janine, she turns to alcohol.

To the surprise of her daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill), Linda is staying with Sharon Watts, but after a night out with Zack, she makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with her mother.

However, Linda raises concerns when Nancy discovers alcohol bottles and a family photo in her suitcase.

Feeling guilty, Nancy talks to Linda and offers her an olive branch.

But that doesn’t seem to do anything about her addiction.

The day of Stuart’s surgery arrives and Linda is discovered by the new dad sneaking alcohol into a drink.

This leads to him confiding in Rainie about his own past addiction to painkillers as he admits he is afraid of relapsing after his surgery.

Linda’s addiction to alcohol has historically torn her family apart and was first noticed when she was struggling to accept her son Ollie’s diagnosis of autism.

This was only made worse by Mick’s panic attacks and her own fears that her cancer might have returned.

She was even caught drunk driving in front of the school gate.

While trying to take steps toward recovery, Linda has relapsed multiple times.

But could Nancy help her in her fight? Will Linda finally find help for her addiction?
