Fans were stunned that Real Madrid were on the verge of signing their ‘own Wout Weghorst’ in a bizarre transfer

Supporters reacted with amusement to the shocking Real Madrid transfer news.
And some Manchester United fans even compared it to Wout Weghorst’s odd move to Old Trafford.
We’ve reported that former Premier League flop Joselu is close to joining Real Madrid.
The Spaniard scored just ten Premier League goals in four years during his stints at Stoke and Newcastle between 2015 and 2019.
Since then, however, he has reignited his career in Spain and is close to making his big transfer.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio RomanoReal Madrid bosses are currently finalizing the final details of the deal.
He adds that personal terms were agreed with Joselu last week, with Madrid securing ‘favorable terms’.
Joselu, 33, “dreams” of a Bernabeu return after playing for Real between 2009 and 2012.
The striker scored goals for Real Madrid’s senior team but only made two first-team appearances, scoring one goal each, before being traded to Hoffenheim.
But while Madrid fans are dreaming of signing Kylian Mbappé after his explosive contract rocked Paris Saint-Germain yesterday, it now looks like there will be Joselu in their attack next season… And Twitter has that excited.

“Josleu will bench Mbappe,” one fan told the news.
A Manchester United fan jokingly said: “That’s how we signed Weghorst.”
While another joked: “Mbappe to replace Joselu, perfect.”
After stints at Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover, Joselu joined Stoke in 2015 for £5.75m.
He scored four goals in his first Prem season before being loaned to Deportivo.
He joined Newcastle for £5million in 2017, scoring seven goals in 52 games for the Toon before joining Alaves two years later.
In 2022 he joined Espanyol in what would be a successful career.
The 1.80m tall star scored 16 goals last LaLiga season and even made it into the Spain squad.
He came on as a substitute and scored twice on his dream debut against Norway in March before earning his first cap for La Roja in a 2-0 defeat by Scotland.
Real Madrid are looking for new centre-forwards following the departure of Karim Benzema.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been linked with Harry Kane, although a deal seems unlikely at this point with Kai Havertz also reportedly on their radar.
Weghorst, 30, joined United on loan from Burnley in January and was included straight into their starting XI.

But Weghorst has not scored a single goal in 17 league appearances – although he has scored twice in his other 14 cup games.
