Fans gather to “Save Red Dead Online” after lackluster New Year update

Red Dead Online fans are rallying to #SaveRedDeadOnline following negative reaction to its latest update.
Considering the popularity and constant updates of GTA Online, you would be wrong to think that Red Dead Online is also treated in the same way. That couldn’t be further from the truth, according to most players, with most of the Red Dead updates being miniscule compared with Dr Dre guest appearances and new music launches.
This has been a longstanding problem in the community, but it has gained prominence most recently thanks to latest new year update. As reported by Eurogamer, players started Tweeting #SaveRedDeadOnline in response to Rockstar’s most recent update. The update in question simply gives XP bonuses to a bunch of quests, with a particular focus on the “A Land Of Opportunities” quests.
Compared to GTA, which usually gets new game modes, quests, new items or new clothes every week, the community isn’t happy to see some bonus XP. Ben T, a famous Rockstar Games insider, replied to the Tweet, saying “Wtf rockstar. You are the worst when it comes to online game management. You never listen, all you do is act like nothing happened. Thanks for ruining this game. and community.”
Ben later tweeted, “Red Dead Redemption 2 has one of the most detailed and beautiful open worlds to date. Please Rockstar Games
– save Red Dead Online for your own benefit. Don’t throw away the amazing potential it has. You’re incredibly lucky to have an avid fan base who cares. These month-long events will eventually kill off the game and its fan base, which obviously doesn’t work anymore. If anyone at a higher level at Rockstar sees a hashtag, we’re here to save the game as die-hard fans of Red Dead. “
