Fans are all saying the same thing as Duncan Ferguson was offered a vegan burger by the Forest Green Rovers chairman after taking the job as chef

DUNCAN FERGUSON’s reaction to being offered a vegan burger has left fans in the lurch.

The former Everton star has taken over as manager at Forest Green Rovers.

And at his first media event, Ferguson was asked about The Vegans’ meat-free policy along with organic owner Dale Vince.

Forest Green is an all-vegan football club and Vince offered Ferguson one of their burgers.

The Scot was asked if he’d eaten vegan before and replied awkwardly: “Looking forward to trying one. I don’t think I (have tried vegan food).

“You look pretty, don’t you? Really very pretty. I look forward to eating this later!”

Fans were amused by Ferguson’s reaction and his lack of knowledge about veganism.

One wrote: “There’s no way Duncan Ferguson knows what a vegan is.”

Another added: “Duncan Ferguson study chips are vegan. That is football heritage.”

A third said: “I’ve always had Ferguson as a raw steak man, not a vegan.”

Forest Green have been dubbed the “greenest team in the world” by Fifa, but are currently bottom of League One.

And Ferguson faces a tall order to keep it up after sacked manager Ian Burchnall has recorded just five wins in 28 games.
