Family anger when drug driver attacked and ran away, leaving 10-year-old boy injured, released from prison

A FAMILY spoke of their “disgust” yesterday when a runaway drug driver that left a 10-year-old boy severely injured has been released from prison.
Oliver Davies was thrown 30ft into the air when Samuel Congreve, 24, was smoking marijuana, crashed into his BMW.
Oliver of Tredegar, Gwenthad a punctured lung, broken many bones and torn the spleen.
Now 11, he was hospitalized for nine days after the smash and was unable to walk upstairs or play with friends.
In the weeks that followed, Oliver had a relapse nightmare.
Amy’s mother-of-three said the crash last June affected the whole family and she was prescribed an antidepressant.
Congreve received four months of probation and three months of curfew at the Newport magistrates.
He was also banned from driving for two years.
“It’s disgusting,” said Oliver’s mother, Amy.
