Extinction Rebellion blockade TEN major oil facilities across the UK in latest eco-mob protest

EXTINCTION Rebellion blocked TEN major oil installations across the UK today in their latest eco-mob protest.
The group works with Just Stop Oil supporters in Essex, Hertfordshire and Birmingham.
A statement from Extinction Rebellion said: “The action comes at a crucial time: the British public is waking up this morning to a 54% rise in energy price caps, which charities say is leaving millions of people unable to pay their bills .
“The government is making the decision to continue its reliance on fossil fuels as wages of war in Ukraine rather than accelerate the transition to a renewable energy-led future.
Just months after the COP26 ‘last chance’, Boris Johnson is now claiming the current crisis calls for a ‘climate change passport’.
They added: “All of this is happening *despite recent polls showing the UK public now wants climate action amid the energy crisis. *
“Extinction Rebellion is here to say *Not on our behalf.*”
Police officers are now responding to activists at a site in Tyburn, Birmingham.
West Midlands Police tweeted: “We are working to deal with this as soon as possible.”
Six people have now been arrested at three locations in Thurrock, Essex Police said.
The force tweeted: “We are currently dealing with three incidents in #Thurrock where there have been reports of a group of people blocking the roads.
“So far six people have been arrested.
“It’s affecting the Navigator Fuel Centre, Esso in #Purfleet and Askew Farm Lane.
“Drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
