The Russian Defense Ministry claims that all drones were destroyed by air defense systems. Responsibility for the attack has traditionally been attributed to Ukraine.

On the night of August 29, the territory of the Russian Federation was twice attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles. This was announced by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Telegram.

It is reported that around 11:00 p.m. an “UAV aircraft” attacked objects on the territory of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. The ministry claims the drone was destroyed by air defenses.

Later, at 05:53, the Russian Defense Ministry reported a second drone attack on the territory of the Russian Federation. This time the Tula region was attacked. According to the agency, the second drone was also shot down by anti-aircraft systems.

The Russian Defense Ministry claims Ukraine is behind both attacks. Losses and destruction are not mentioned in the publications.

According to an Aug. 28 publication in The Economist, Russian forces have created a continuous strip of electronic interference near the border about 60 km wide, which Ukrainian drones are still penetrating and hitting targets.

Earlier, on August 26, we wrote that a separate brigade of naval forces designed to operate unmanned sea vehicles was created as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

We also reported that on the night of August 24-25, Ukrainian forces conducted a covert operation in temporarily occupied Crimea. The SBU said the enemy was not prepared for a massive drone attack in their rear.
