Exact temperature setting for your thermostat will save you $42 this spring on cool and warm days

THE winter is over – but the temperature of your thermostat can still make a big difference in your energy bill.
According to recent data from SaveOnEnergy, the average electric bill in the US is $138.57.

And depending on the state you live in, your bill can be as high as $237.78.
However, there is a simple trick to take the strain off your energy bills.
And this depends on your thermostat settings.
As we are in the middle of spring this depends on how often you are at home and what the temperature is outside.

And note that you may have to switch between air conditioning and heating.
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
For cooler days, clean energy company Palmetto recommends setting your heating temperature to 68°C when you’re home and awake, and 65°C when you’re asleep.
When you leave the house, lower it to 60°.
On warmer days you should set your cooling temperature between 78° and 86° outside the house.
By lowering your temperature by seven to 10 degrees for eight hours, you can save up to 10 percent, according to the Department of Energy.
That would mean if you normally pay $415.71 (based on average monthly electric bill) for spring, you could save about $41.57.
OTHER WAYS TO SAVE ENERGY
To save more money, you might want to invest in a gadget.
Air fryers, in particular, can really help ease the burden on your energy bills.
A gourmia brand was recently found at Walmart for just $15 on hidden clearance by TikTok influencer BrickSeek.
An air fryer is estimated to be 50 percent more energy efficient than an electric stove.
So if you find an offer, it might be worth it.
To keep your standby waste under control, an “energy-saving box” from Amazon can help.
A four pack can be purchased from Amazon for a total of $29.99 or $7.50 each.
As soon as you plug the device into your outlet, it aims to reduce power to the electronics that are in standby mode.
Though reviews are mixed, it could help save $512 on your energy bill.

For more on how to save money, Walmart shoppers are rushing to buy a $100 home for just $20.
And for those on a tighter budget, there are two Dollar Tree deals for $1.25.
