EVERTON has been dealt a serious injury blow as defender Ben Godfrey is sidelined for THREE MONTHS following a horrific injury against Chelsea.
Godfrey broke his leg just ten minutes after Everton’s 1-0 Premier League defeat.
After a duel with Kai Havertz, the 24-year-old got worse.
Everton said: “Ben Godfrey underwent successful surgery on his fractured fibula this morning.
“The defender will now begin rehabilitation under the care of the club’s medical team at Finch Farm and is expected to be out for around three months.”
Everton will also be without striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin for six weeks.
The forward suffered an injury-related setback on the eve of the new Premier League season.
Boss Frank Lampard said: “Losing a player of Dom’s quality will obviously have an impact.
“I think we’re probably looking at around six weeks after the injury.”
To soften the blow, the Toffees have started getting involved in the transfer market.

The Merseyside club are approaching promising Lille midfielder Amadou Onana.
Wolves defender and England international Conor Coady has also joined the club to fill the gaps.
Coady told evertontv: “It’s incredible to join Everton.
“When I heard the interest of the manager, but also of the football club itself, I really wanted to be there immediately. I’m delighted to join.
“Growing up in the city, I know the Football Club, how big this club is and what it means to the fans.
“I am someone who really wanted to come here to play for this club. I have family and friends who are massive Evertonians.
“I am here to give absolutely everything for this football club.
“It’s important that I work as hard as I can to help my teammates move the club forward and make people proud.”
