EVERTON are reportedly leading the race to sign Tottenham star Steven Bergwijn.
Spurs are believed to be ready to sell the Netherlands international this summer given interest from Everton and Ajax.
Bergwijn, 24, has also admitted he is eyeing a transfer as he wants to play football regularly.
And it seems Everton have the upper hand as they are willing to offer Bergwijn more money than Ajax, De Telegraaf report.
The Toffees are reportedly ready to meet Tottenham’s asking price too, which is believed to be in the region of £21million.
But Bergwijn is said to favor a move to Ajax as the Dutch champions can offer Champions League football.
Playing regularly in his home country could also increase the winger’s chances of playing for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar.
But Ajax have not reached an agreement with Spurs over his transfer as a £17million offer was rejected.
However, Spurs’ interest in Ajax winger Antony means a player swap deal could be on the table.
Tottenham also want Richarlison and Everton are ready to sell the Brazilian.
