A short contribution to this social media simply read: “We welcome our first official hair transplant partner to the Everton family. 🔵”

And football fans have had a hilarious reaction to the news of the connection – who suffered a close shave just four months after being relegated to the Championship.

One said: “I have been running a spoof football club account for over 6 years. Most of the best gags revolved around humiliating shirt sponsors and official partners.

“But not once in these 2,300 days or so have I come up with something so perfect. I am completely overwhelmed. Unbelievable.”

Another added: “Will Everton be the direct cause of my batting head, do I get a free one?”

And a third said, “What’s the discount if I get a shirt with Gravesen on the back?”

Everton secured their first Premier League win of the season on the eve of the international break.

Frank Lampard’s men, who finished 16th in May, were without a win in their first six games of the season – drawing four and losing two.

But they finally clinched a win on Sunday as Neal Maupay’s first goal for the club gave them a 1-0 win over West Ham.

Next up for Everton is a trip to Southampton on Saturday 1 October.

They then face a tricky series of games against Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle.
