Escaped monkey causes chaos aboard Royal Navy ship before jumping into the sea 80ft

A STOWAWAY monkey caused chaos on a Royal Navy ship when sailors tried in vain to capture her so it could dock.
The crew used a cargo net to trap the mother and baby she was carrying – but she jumped 80ft into the sea to avoid being caught.
The primates were last seen swimming towards land.
Blue monkeys sneak aboard the RFA Wave Knight supply ship at Bridgetown, Barbados.
The crew searched in vain for them and they were only discovered on the bridge, the highest point of the ship, once at sea.
Officials at Grand Turk Island in the Atlantic Ocean refused to let the tanker dock with the monkeys on board for “biosecurity reasons” so efforts to capture them had already begun.
A source said: ‘Things took a turn for the worse when the crew was trying to catch her. It’s really bad.
“But she’s doggy boating in the sea and her baby is holding on tight. You can see the land.”
“We take our responsibility to wildlife seriously and strive to help,” the Royal Navy said.
